Scavenger hunt (MVNU brochure edition)

You know Bennett? He tagged me in a photo on Facebook—a photo of an MVNU brochure that had my picture in it!

meguitar This picture, in fact. From the Great Wind Storm and Power Outage of 2008.

Thing is, I have no idea what brochure this was… all I know is that one part of one page looks like this:

mebrochure

So, when I get back to MVNU, I’m going to stop by Admissions and see if I can’t track this puppy down… or, if you happen to know what brochure it is, send me a picture of the front of it! The e-mail’s readersis at gmail dot com. (You know the drill—type out the e-mail as a normal e-mail address, replacing “at” with the at-sign and “dot” with a period.)

I’m kinda curious which opportunities they’re talking about… something as significant as going to Costa Rica, or something as simple the leetle class sizes, or what.

I’m glad they picked that picture, though. It’s from one of my favorite times at MVNU—when Hurricane Ike blew through campus, knocking out the power for a few days. When we were gathered in the PSU during the wind storm, I had had the forethought to bring my guitar, and several of my friends had their musical instruments as well. So we had a little music going to pass the time enjoyably.

7 reasons to visit the PSU!

J-term at MVNU has just been brought to an end. I, therefore, am at home for the next few days! But rather than recount another story of the fun that my family has–which, admittedly, is not really related to life in general at MVNU–I shall present for you….

7 Reasons to Visit the PSU (Prince Student Union)!

7. The 586 is down there and sells weird bread. Seriously, it’s good weird bread. And we have RoadBucks to spend!

6. You can see Robert dressed up like crazy during every basketball game there. You should have seen him during White Out Night. Face completely whited out, hair standing on end with white paint through it all… he looked like a zombie.

5. Sometimes there are musical acts/drama club events held down there (such as MVNU’s version of “Whose Line Is It Anyway?” or last year’s occasional Open Mic Nights). MVNU campus is full of artistic talent and we like to share it with each other. And with you.

4. You can play Orange Ball on the pool tables in the game room. Or if you don’t know how, you can go down to the PSU, ask a random MVNU student, and they will most likely know the game and be able to teach you.

3. If you want to play a board game in the afternoon, in a co-ed group, before guest pass hours start in the apartments, the 586 café tables in the PSU provide an ideal environment.

You see.

2. The fitness room helps you shed those Freshman Pounds. (Or any gained in later years.) You may also watch “Project Runway” on mute with the closed-captioning on and laugh at the faulty captioning.

1. Wednesday night chapel is awesome. And it’s in the PSU.

¡Bienvenidos!

I'm Sarah, on one of the MVNU student blogs. Enjoy the posts! I recommend checking out "This is Meself" to start with, then jumping in wherever you are. Tags and categories can guide the way. Don't forget to have a look at my photos from Costa Rica too. :)
